Mayor to Host Multi-Faith Civic Event
Cllr Jane Brophy, Mayor of Trafford, has been working tirelessly since her appointment to champion the borough, support community engagement, and represent Trafford at key civic occasions, including Remembrance services, citizenship ceremonies, and official openings.
This Sunday, 15 February, the Mayor will host a multi-faith civic event at Altrincham Baptist Church, Hale Road. The event is designed to promote love, joy, peace and hope across Trafford’s communities.
The Civic Faith Event will feature music, reflections, dance and blessings from representatives of local faith groups, bringing together religious leaders from across the borough. There will be a special reading by the Mayor of Trafford’s Cadet, Royal Marine Cadet William Homan and Ann Angel, the chairperson of Altrincham Interfaith Group, will also be joining the event.
Cllr Jane Brophy, Mayor of Trafford, said: “This is an opportunity for people of all faiths, and those with no faith, to come together and celebrate as one to promote love, joy and peace in our Trafford communities. I am really looking forward to bringing together our multi-faith representatives to celebrate both diversity and togetherness.”
Alongside other faith leaders, the event will be supported by Minister Ashley Hardingham, the Mayor’s Chaplain for her term of office, who said: “It is a great honour to be the Mayor’s Chaplain and to host her Civic Faith Event. Altrincham Baptist Church is proud to serve everyone, regardless of faith, and we look forward to welcoming the different communities of Trafford to our church on Sunday.”
During the event, the Mayor will also be promoting the Mayor’s Charity Fund, which supports The ME Association and Trafford Carers Centre.
